What Our Customers Are Saying...

Cedars did not disappoint

"Visited Cedars tonight while in town on business. It was delicious!! I am half Lebanese so I'm pretty picky about my middle eastern food - this place did not disappoint.

As everyone else has stated, it was immaculate and the service was super friendly. I came in pretty late, only about 45 minutes before closing so I was the only one in the restaurant. I had the Cedars Combo: hummus, labne, falafel, kibbeh, grape leaves, sanbousek and they substituted tabouli for the baba ghanouj for me without any trouble.

My food came out a bit slow, but I suspect this was because they were having a slow night so everything was prepared fresh. Both the kibbeh and the sanbousek were hot and crispy, had not been sitting around at all, and the bread was warm and soft. Everything tasted delicious and was prepared just right. I'm always leery of ordering grape leaves in restaurants because they are often canned and taste mushy and oily. These were fresh and tasted just as they should. My only complaint was that the parsley in the tabouli tasted a little off, like perhaps it was re-hydrated dried parsley rather than fresh. It might just be that it was chopped very fine, and it tasted good anyway so not such a big deal, just not exactly what I expected.

I ordered a piece of baklava to go before leaving, very glad I did! It was one of the highlights of the meal - light and crispy, not drowned in sugar syrup and just the right amount of nuts. I will definitely come back to this place whenever I'm in town." Pam L, Nov. 3, 2011

Some of the best Middle Eastern food

"Truly outstanding Middle Eastern Food. The hummus, falafel, Kibbeh were incredibly flavorful, fresh and the really may be some of the best Middle Eastern food that I have had. I will be going back weekly for that falafel, pita and hummus!! SooooGooood!!!! I really wanted to eat more but my stomach was at maximum capacity. What a great little spot." Jo. I, Aug. 12, 2011

Delicious, healthy and fresh food

"Delicious, healthy and fresh food is the standard here. We've been eating here almost weekly, for a year and we've never been disappointed. The owners are really friendly and know their Lebanese cuisine. The restaurant is always clean and bright and the BYOB is a huge plus, IMO. They also offer wi-fi and the few times I've gone for lunch there's always someone working on their computer. My favorite dishes are the chicken shwarma platter and samik harra (I think that's the spelling, it's the spicy tilapia platter)." Dionne C., March 22,2011

Delicious lunch

"My first time at this restaurant was about 3 weeks ago. I was greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. I had a beef type of wrap and it was served with a really fresh and crispy side salad-I passed on the fries that were also offered. . It was a delicious lunch and I will be back for sure. I have never had Lebanese food and I really enjoyed it. The owners are friendly and the restaurant is spotless. Great food so far" Heather F., March 14, 2011

Vegan, gluten free, tasty falafel

"sooooo glad I found this place. I love falafel and finding a place that makes it well out in the suburbs it kind of difficult. Also, my girlfriend is vegan and gluten free so finding anywhere to accommodate her diet can be a task in itself. Cedar's takes care of both of these jobs, vegan, gluten free, tasty falafel for a reasonable price." John M., Jan. 8, 2011

"The Falafel Is Awesome

Very clean, very bright and cheery, great place for lunch. The food is prepared with care and it is authentic and delicious. Everything is so fresh. The waitstaff are really nice and even when they are super busy they treat the customers kindly. The falafel is awesome, everything I have ever had is great. Their hummus and their baba ganoush is wonderful. I also recommend the baklava if you have room!" Lauren S., Nov. 9, 2010

"You'll Go Back for More!

I now have visited this little gem of a restaurant several times and have always found the food to be the freshest quality and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Try it, you'll fall in love with their food!" Mary Kathryn, Oct 3, 2010

Fresh, Bright, Delicious

"Never tried Lebanese food till we found Cedars! Fresh, bright, delicious food, with friendly, welcoming service. Sandwiches for lunch are under $8 and include salad or fries, generous portions on the platters, too. Have tried almost 10 different dishes, all of which were new to us, and all have made us very happy. Cedars has opened up a whole new world of flavors for us!" R H. Elverson, PA - July 18, 2010

Best Middle Eastern Food

"This restaurant probably had the best middle-eastern food i have had in a while, and I lived over in the middle-east for 15 years. It is great to finally be able to enjoy some truly authentic food, at a decent price. To add on to their tasty food, you also feel a real sense of hospitality and a warm welcome. It is BYOB as well.

Everyone needs to try this place out! You will not regret it...

Also, you would be helping out a family business....which is always a great way to go!", Kyle H. - May 17, 2010

"Delicious!"

"Really likes it - We loved the restaurant, the food, the service. I am half Lebanese and the food reminded me of my grandmother and father's cooking....at it's best! Go and try the kibbie, grape leaves and everything else they have to offer. I had the rice pudding for dessert....it was so refreshing. Love this place. They have coupons in the Clipper magazine and you can bring your own bottle." Dikiewel, May 14, 2010

"One of my favorites!"

"Do you want to sit down and have a home cooked Lebanese meal? Then this is the place for you. The food is delicious and the family that owns the restaurant is as nice as could be! We sometimes just go to have our version of Lebanese Dim Sum. Bring a bottle of wine and make sure you have the Baklava to top things off. It is made fresh every day and is heaven! Don't use a fork, just pick it up and lick your fingers afterward." Verden, April 24, 2010

Good Lebanese Food

"Finally! Lebanese food in southern Chester County...and it's good. Favorites include kibbeh, fattoush, and hummus. I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu. The space is incredibly clean and the service couldn't be friendlier." Stephanie L. - April 12, 2010

"The search for a great middle eastern is...

I highly recommend trying Cedars Cafe. We went for lunch today and it was excellent. I cannot wait to go back for dinner and taking advantage of the byob. The owners are lovely, the place is immaculate. Don't let the shopping center throw you. Drive in, park and go in and enjoy a wonderful middle eastern meal. I am half Lebanese and was very pleased with the taste of the kibbeh, grape leaves and the rice pudding made with rose water was so fresh and so cold....very refreshing. I enjoyed talking to the owners who were warm and welcoming. Do go and enjoy every bite.?" Diane

A meal we look forward to every time we go

"Food tastes fresh and nicely balanced with flavor. We've added it to the top of our short list of favorites for take out and also enjoy going there with the kids for a simple night out and no dishes to do. Spinach pies are awesome appetizers and the tilapia (samki harra) is outstanding. Hospitality of the owners is superb and very thoughtful. Highly recommend.? " Kathy

Delicious Appetizers

"We tried Cedars Cafe tonight for the first time - appetizers only - loved it! Well seasoned, hearty kibbe, savory falafels, deliciously tart grape leaves, and an yummy spinach pie in a homemade bread. Generous size portions and a well kept, clean restaurant - we'll be back." Lisa

Yummy Appetizers, Delicately Spiced Kabobs

"We were at Cedars Cafe a couple of weeks ago with a large group of friends and had a great time. I love Middle Eastern food, and Cedars didn’t disappoint, so the long drive from Philadelphia to Frazer was completely worth it.

The hummus and baba ganouj were great, but there were two appetizers that were real standouts for us. The labneh was a thick, creamy, ever-so-slightly tart yogurt dip. The sanbousik were two fried meat dumplings with a yummy, savory filling of ground beef, onions and pine nuts that brought back fond memories of my (Eastern European) grandmother’s meat dumplings.

The mixed grill platter that two of us got to share consisted of three kebabs: a moist, delicately spiced lamb, a tender grilled chicken and a spicy (but not hot) kafta, a kind of sausage. It came with a very tasty, almost pilaf-style rice and sides of hummus and tabouli. I’d definitely recommend this to experience a variety of tastes. We had enough to take home and enjoy the next day, and the leftover kafta went great scrambled into our eggs!

The overall atmosphere was warm, cheerful and unpretentious. The cafe was spotless and well-lit, the service friendly and accommodating, the patrons a mix of all ages and stages, and all obviously enjoying the food. The place is new, but every table filled up the night we went." Terese

Even Better than the First Impression

"The night before we left the country for 3 weeks, we had an amazing meal at Cedars Cafe which had opened the previous night. I was most anxious to try it again after we got home last week to see if it was really as good as that first impression. It was even better!

The chicken shish tawook platter is delicious. The chicken is beautifully seasoned and the hummus, rice and tabouli salad are the best that I have tasted in the Philadelphia area." Winnie

Friendly Staff, Outstanding Food

"This is a delicious place to eat! The owners are so friendly and the food is outstanding! It takes a lot of work to make this type of food so I really appreciate that they are here to make my lunches healthy and delicious! Thank you for opening! Keep up the good work!" Lori

Fresh, Large Portioned, Moderately Spiced

"I've been here several times now, and every single time the food has been excellent. I think I've had everything on their menu. It has all been fresh, moderately spiced, and large portioned. I've also brought several guests; each invariably commenting that this is one of the best Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants they have ever eaten in.
While the decor is a bit cold, it is more than made up for by the gracious warmth of the hosts." Micheal C., Malvern, PA

Fresh and Delicious

Excellent Service, Delicious Food

"I had lunch with my friend at Cedars and we loved everything we ordered. The spinach pie and stuffed grape leaves were very tasty, my kibbeh was exactly how I remember it from when I lived in Lebanon. We also ordered a chicken tawook platter, it was excellent. For dessert, we shared a namoura and a baklava, DELICIOUS. Not to mention the service was excellent! Can't say enough good things about this place!" Mona M., Malvern, PA

Best Middle Eastern Food

"This is the Best Middle Eastern Food In the area. The food is so delicious my husband and I can't stay away from this GREAT restaurant. The food is outstanding. It is genuine home made. Everything is freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned. We love everything on the menu so much we have eaten there three times in one week. We will be eating there on a regular basis and taking all our friends with us." Joyce A., West Chester, PA

Excellent Vegetarian Selection

"We happened to be in the area on Tuesday visiting friends and we stopped by for dinner. We were very impressed, the place was very clean and the service was excellent. We ordered the vegetarian combo, it was excellent! We also had a falafel platter, the falafels were crisp and flavorful, it came with a side of hummus and baba ghanouj, both were very delicious. Too bad we don't live nearby." Verma, Cherry Hill, NJ

Newly Opened Restaurant With Great Selection

"Just had a meal in this newly opened restaurant, Cedars Cafe, in the Westgate Plaza where a Staples store also is located. It is family-run and their pride in their new venture shows.

We enjoyed several selections, starting with the Cedars Veggie Combo which included the ubiquitous assortment of hummus, baba ganouj, grape leaves, falafel, and a delicious spinach pie. Added to it was something we particularly enjoyed, a vegetarian kibbeh. The menu describes it as being a potato and bulgur wheat shell, stuffed with onions, tomatoes, celery, bell peppers.

For our main course, I had Chicken Shawarma and the better half had Lamb Kabob. Both were gone in a matter of minutes. No room for dessert, but there is baklava, rice pudding and Namoura, which is a semolina cake topped with orange blossom syrup.

A very casual, storefront kind of dining experience, it will be the warm, family welcome and the delicious food that will keep us going back. For the Great Valley Corporate Center lunch crowd, in addition to the main courses they have a selection of sandwiches and salads.

Nice to have a Middle Eastern dining choice in this area." Hils
